E-Service was formed in response to the changing technical requirements of the coin-operated machine industry.
With the arrival of downloadable games and the growing popularity of remote data collection and machine networking, the nature of the coin-op industry is changing. The skill levels and expertise required for today's machine estates have changed with an increasing emphasis on PC based equipment and networking capabilities. In addition, components that were previously mechanical in nature have evolved towards electronic and solid state replacements. This has "upped the ante" for the service aspect of the industry.
Machines are staying in place longer. Components are more reliable. But the technical demands are more complex and the challenges that they provide to the operator are far greater.
Machine manufacturers and operators have been faced with a clear choice: either up-skill an in-house service team with the relevant capabilities and have them as a permanent asset, or outsource these high-level requirements to an external specialist company and pay for the expertise only when and where you need it. E-Service has filled this gap.
The types of project ideal for E-Service are those such as installation, networking and upgrading of machines.
Typical contracts to date have involved:
-
Installing and networking of machines and terminals
-
Installation and commissioning of large multi-player pieces of equipment
-
Upgrade work in line with deregulation and changes in payment systems
-
Retrofitting of note-acceptors
-
Upgrading of locks and other cabinet-based security systems
-
Networking of machines for remote data communication
-
Token upgrade
