E-Service in the newsE-SERVICE IN THE NEWS
E-service - the dedicated service, spares and support company for the coin-op and vending industries – has hit the headlines with its latest contract. Under the new agreement, e-service will provide exclusive UK-wide coverage for Press Sentinel Inc’s portfolio of newspaper vending machines.
Working in partnership with the US-based manufacturer of the machines, e-service will provide all aspects of customer support after purchase. This includes liaising with the customer to finalise details, setting up the machines for the relevant parameters, delivering the units to site, and training personnel in use of the machines. After installation, e-service will continue to support each machine on a service contract basis for repair and maintenance.
Press Sentinel, already a market leader in newspaper vending in the US, has spent the last two years developing the NewsVend Plus machine to make it perfect for the European market. Enhancements include the addition of change-giving capability and a newly-designed cabinet. The machines are already proving popular with major newspaper publishers wishing to boost circulation by offering vending-based distribution in sites such as hospitals, shopping arcades, train stations and public buildings.
Chris Martin of Press Sentinel said, “The choice of a partner to launch NewsVend Plus was an important one, as the support company will in effect be the face of Press Sentinel to customers in the UK. We entered into discussions with e-service on the personal recommendation of one of our suppliers, who had experience of the company’s technical expertise and high levels of on-going support. Following meetings with Mike Clokie, the company’s sales director, and Garry Hawthorne, the engineer who will manage the contract, we knew we had found the right company. Intensive training was arranged for the final quarter of 2004 and the contract is progressing very well with a number of units already in-situ.”
Mike Clokie said, “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract. The e-service team is drawn from both the coin-op and vending industries and this our first major turnkey support contract for a vending customer. We excel in projects where the professionalism of our engineers is a priority and it makes us immensely proud to be representing Press Sentinel as their support partner in the UK.”
